Interests: I am a classical historian and archaeologist and I favor an interdisciplinary approach to understanding ancient history. My main interest lies in the Republican period of Rome and Rome’s policies and relationship with other societies in the Mediterranean world during the early period of Roman expansion and dominance. I am currently conducting research on the material culture of the Samnites, and I am focusing on what the material culture can tell us about the political and cultural changes taking place in Samnium between the fourth and first centuries B.C.
