The Institute for European and Mediterranean Archaeology (IEMA) is an interdepartmental institute established under the aegis of the UB2020 initiative that brings together the 9 faculty and ca. 35 graduate students in the University at Buffalo Departments of Anthropology, Classics, and Visual Studies whose research focus lies in the archaeology of Europe and the Mediterranean.

Classics Department faculty, including Professor Stephen Dyson, Associate Professor Bradley Ault, and Assistant Professor Philip Kiernan, participate in IEMA and help guide its programs.
